A310 Tyres

Postby exocet » Sun Dec 13, 2020 9:27 pm

I needed some new front tyres for my A310 V6 and currently have Toyo Proxes T1Rs front (195/50/15) and rear (225/50/15). Rang up to order some, only to be greeted with the bad news that t appears that Toyo are no longer doing this range :down The ever reducing choice of a single brand front and rear has gotten even smaller!

Anyone have any other suggestions? I can find a few choices of fronts, but rears are like rocking horse droppings.

That’s because the Toyos have been replaced with the TR1 which are readily available

Thanks for that.

Unfortunately Toyo in this part of the world (NZ) don't seem to know that! The regional distributor changing probably doesn't help. The Oz site doesn't list TR1s at all.

At least it will give me something to go back to them with, so even though I don't need rears just yet, I may be able to get them ordered in.

Hi there,
Have you tried E Bay...? The UK E Bay site lists quite a few 225/50/15 tyres so may be worth a look. I understand there is now an E bay site in New Zealand..

UK site... : https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... 5&_sacat=0

I have 255/4017 Toyo Proxes Sport tyres on the rear of my A610 but 215/4017 Goodyear's on the front as Toyo do not make a Proxes Sport in 215/40/17 size.

Hope this helps, Barry,

Hi

We've got a home-grown ebay alternative (TradeMe), and there are some Kumho's in the right size (rear), but they don't do the front's in the same range (ideally I prefer front and rears from the same range, Toyos being pretty decent and having both F+R in the T1R/TR1 range).

I've just been advised that the Toyo rep can't get the TR1 tyres (at least yet, who know, maybe next year?), so it looks like I'd have to import them myself. I might check in with our Aussie friends to see if they have any other options. At least I do have one spare rear stored in the garage in case the worst happens!

Thanks for the assistance.
