It would seem that the bidding has stalled.

Any bets on the final price...

The fact one of the bids has been retracted could put people off to they have seen the car I bet closer to the ending time it will shoot up a bit. I reckon £15k is where it will end.

The bidding has certainly stalled. There will be a flurry of bidding towards the end though. My bet would be 15 -16k, that would give you a lovely car done for about £35k.

Well if I was going for it and doing it myself there's £10,000 in parts and refirb bits, plus spray job so total £15,000 so it's already there max £12,500.

£16,000 was the retracted bid and it was still reserve not met.

I do hope it cracks big money (Mr Taylor I have popped my A610 on PH to try and get prices up, know what I mean....? :Douh ) as it will be good news for Alpines in the UK.

So at 14K it didn't make the reserve then.

Darren read above, it didn't make it's reserve when someone bid £16k....

I think they have taken the upper figure of £20k that Steve quoted for value as Gospel and thought it was worth that. They need a re-think and re-list without reserve.

Yep I saw your 16K comment, but I was thinking that after it'd been pulled they might have revised it down to ensure the sale. Didn't exactly go into any sort of bidding frenzy at the end that's for sure.

I think you're right though Martin and they took the 20K as the target. In my view 14K was fair enough considering the work required and how much is unknown at this point.

What next I guess. As if by magic, it's usually at this point that Mr Dell appears...

Well if they are smart contact the bidder and sell it that was a good price, if they put it back on it has lost the momentum.
Classic Cars are now a commodity and traded as such that is an amazing price for a car in that condition.
Would you part with that sort money on an unknown car it is not a ford with an endless parts bin.

Lol the high bidder (not me) has been in touch with the seller to try and work out a deal. They would be sensible to take it as they rejected more from the same buyer previously as they wanted to see the auction run out...

Gambled and backfired £14k is a good price for a car that needs a hell load of work, hope they get a deal done. They are definitely braver than me, but glad someone will make it into a lovely car once more.
