Oh, he could have more than 300 Pete, he could easily have 500, just not at 11psi...

Well I have to say that first driving impressions of my atmo are a little disapointing..engine wise. and the fuel consumption is bad to say the least..ok the design is dated for the chassis..its begging for 250-300 bhp.
So a later engine I would say is a must have...then theres always the option of another make engine such as the ford cozie v6 which is just an awsome power plant and so cheap to buy and tune..300bhp + for under a grand easy. i could be easily tempted to make it into a REAL supercar and fit a nice american v8.
Is there a list of engine swaps that people have done anywhere on here ?
As you can tell..Im not a purist, my cars for My pleasure.

How do you know the car is running how it should?? It sounds like you need to get the car looked at as you shouldnt find it dissapointing or that bad on fuel..You find on the road the atmo can keep with a Turbo GTA, and sometimes, get the jump on it from low revs...

As for the Cosworth V6, it will make around 240bhp with modifications( exhaust, remap etc..), as with the PRV 24v V6, but it certainly won't make 300bhp without extensive work, as in new inlet and exhaust manifolds, full throttle body setup, new management, cams, pistons - thus certainly not for a grand.. Its also a cast iron block (much with the Yank engines) which is far heavier than the PRV V6..and the main factor is there is not a bellhousing adaptor for it..

Engine swap wise, the only ones that are feasible at the moment (as gearbox bellhousing adaptors have already been made in the past) are Cosworth 4cyl Turbo, Renault 4cyl Turbo, Safrane/Laguna/Pug605 V6, Lexus 4.0 V8, Rover V8, Ford/Chevy V8..

John, in the UK, we don't talk about how fast or powerful one thinks their car is without backing it up.

If you can prove your car at 11psi is more powerful than 300bhp/300lb/ft, then spread the word...

This is a country with an abundance of 400-600bhp turbo vehicles, with tried and tested methods, dyno plots, and quartermile times and terminal speeds. So, no matter how much power one says ones car has, you can't cheat physics..

So when somebody comes along with quoted figures that are way out of the ordinary, on a basically standard engine, but with no data to back it up, not many people take notice..thats kids stuff, from about 10 years ago...

No offence intended.

In the GT class the Yanks were quite dominant in the late 90s and early 00s with Viper and Corvette and are sttill big league contenders (I dont have this years results but I believ Aston won it for a change) ....does that count???? Only factory backed teams have won the overall race in recent memory and as far as I can remember no US factory backed teams have entered one of the potentially overall race winning classes.

As for the Autobahn test...he has a Volvo shaped like an un-aerodynamic brick....its not gonna set the world alight on the top speed test I dont think!!!!! :D

Mr Lane, A dyno sheet is the only way to make people believe.
We've seen kids with R5 GTT swearing that they can run more boost than race car for hours upon end and they're laughted at until they can prove it (which most can't). I (I think i can say we!) are sure your car goes well but the figures don't add up... :!:

WOW, 1st, 4th, another one did 279 laps and seemed to be the last car to drop out, plus an A310 listed as REServe.

Were they all running the V6 PRV block?
