New Alpine A110 owners experiences and photos.

Just wanted to say hi as I’m new to this Forum but have read the content with interest as I have just placed an order for a A110s in Glacier white with the mirror pack as the only option. Delivery is expected in June and to say I’m excited is an understatement

The S is well-specc'd already, but your choice of mirror pack is worthwhile in my opinion. Can recommend a storage pannier (or 2) though...

Cheers Clive. Have been looking on various sites for a pannier or some nets. If you have any recommendations they would be greatly appreciated

Do I recognise that username from SELOC?

I bought some of these velcro-on nets: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014PHPP0S/ they fit nicely between the seats on the rear firewall to hold my glasses, and I've got another one behind the passenger seat for things like hivis vests.

Thanks for the link to the nets, they seem like a sensible solution. I’ve also seen someone in one of the French forums has fitted a pair of small ‘panniers’ down either side of the seats so will try and source where they came from.

I've just replied to your post on FAR with some info. on these panniers - they're Alpine accessories.

On a couple of occasions I've noticed a blue zone around the needle of the rev counter - a bit similar to the red zone at the right side of the rev counter.

I noticed it this morning when I restarted the car to garage it (car was already warm from a short run). Guess I should have taken a photo before turning off.

It's quite an attractive effect, but I'm not sure what it means, if anything. It remained present when I momentarily swapped into Sport mode too. I've noticed it in a few of the marketing shots, but thought they were a bit doctored for effect.

Who's going to be first to make me feel silly, with a simple explanation?

It means the engine is cold. It disappears when the water temperature is up to 70C. Likewise the rev limit displayed starts at around 5000 revs when it's really cold and gradually rises as the engine warms up. I don't know if the displayed rev limit is actually imposed - I don't think it's a good idea to get anywhere near those revs with a cold engine.

Depends on whether your car lives in a cosy garage or not.

@bcr5784 - after taking a look again today, I'm not buying the explanation that it simply means 'cold engine'.

Started the car today from completely cold. Blue water temp indicator appeared as normal on the right side of the rev counter. But no blue glow around the needle as it was idling on the left side of the rev counter.

I'm sure this is what normally happens. ie. only sign of a cold engine is the blue water temp icon and the extended red section in the rev counter. No shading around the needle.

Yesterday, after I had come in from a drive, the car was turned off for a short time. Then, with the engine still warm I started it and this was when there was blue shading around the rpm needle - that moved with the needle (although there was no blue water temp icon). Does it actually mean an in-between stage, when the water remains warm but some other sensor (engine oil?) has cooled below a threshold?

I'm back to being baffled

You.re right - I was giving you duff gen - I checked mine today, but mine doesn't seem to behave like yours. There is always a blue section on the revcounter in sport.
