Think I might try this.

It says it's for Renault UN gearboxes on the can...

That's in my GTA. I think I got it from Ebay a couple of years ago.

From Opie Oils, and they often have deals for on-line ordering.

Clearly my car was not too impressed with this oil.
On Friday there was a "thud" followed by a bit of white smoke in the engine bay.
Pulled over to hrad shoulder only to get out and see the oil pouring out of the bottom of the car, empty within 20 seconds.

Investigation today shows that the planet shaft had faild and punched a hole in the casing.

Sounds like a retaining pin failure... has one been wheel spinning a lot more recently?

Not really sure about 1 wheel spinning more than the other, not noticed anything different recently.
Looking to be back on track for the Rushmoor Sprint this Saturday the 2nd Oct.
Come along and watch, Tims race GTA and Daves twin-turbo cars are also entered.

Fine. It's the composition that's important to preserve the yellow metal synchro rings.

GL5 is a no no.

Carlube EP80W Hypoid gear oil is suitable for older synchromesh gear boxes where the GL-5 specification is too high for the particular gearbox and could lead to clogging.

Lead them to water ........

Now then boys and girls, in my workshop I have a part drum of Tranself TRX 80W GL5 gear oil!!

Left over from a customers job years ago. I know it is no longer available, but also know that some owners of Renaults swear by it!

I can decant this into 1l or 5l, but I think shipping may be a problem. If anyone has a suggestion on how to ship, then I am open to suggestions. I am located in West Yorkshire.

Oh price? It is £10 a litre. Paypal welcome.

Mr Clee, that sort of language is not called for!
