There is no Venturi UK forum .Stunned tagged one on to his website I think but that has long since died .

Yes Venturi Website went the way of all things that cost money and not a lot of membership to pay for it!!!

We have a Yahoo discussion group but with only about 5 owners commenting on it and attending shows we need all the friends we can get.

Well I am sorry Jon I didn't think it would be such a big deal, but as has been said the Venturi is very close to the GTA/A610 much more so than a V6 Clio I just don't want this club going the same way as Club Alpine Renault (CAR) which is dead! I know this is an alpine club and I did have own one for many years, but there is nothing for venturis and as there are only about 20-30 venturis in the uk having our own forum is not going to happen!! I am glad that most people even Del Boy seem happy with the Venturi boys on here though!!

Sorry Del mar for hijacking your post! Hope you find a good one!

CAR certainly isn't dead, it's just that the forum is very quiet compared with this one.

Hi Paul,

I think you must have missed my comment (above) about Venturi`s being spoken about on the RAOC forum..... in fact Stephen and I agree on that.
However I have to disagree with the following comment you made.....

PaulyA610 wrote:the Venturi is very close to the GTA/A610 much more so than a V6 Clio

..... the difference being that the GTA/610 and the V6 Clio`s were made by Renault.

But I do have a thought that you might wish to pursue seeing as Venturi`s do not have their own club... which I did not realise.... sorry  ... but It does surprise me though.
Recently our club has added another heading, namely " Off Topic " which in part is for non Renault Cars....in it, would you consider having Venturi threads... ie:- "Venturi General Discussion".... "Venturi Your Car & Projects" etc, that way we could judge the interest to see if Venturi owners want to have a platform for their cars and owners, and also see if they want to become full members or just use our very successful RAOC site for free which would be shame if that were the case. Depending on the take up and usage a more measured view could be considered for inclusion to our club if that is what the club and its members wanted.
Paul, I am trying to be positive, I have not discussed this with anyone else, but as we have this new heading, it seems to be a possible route for you.... it might be worth considering. But as Andy said "we just have to make sure any changes are for the best."..... with that I agree.

Shall we put it to the vote ? That is what should happen ...democratic ......if Dellboy allows it
I really can't see the problem ,far more reasons why they should than against.
ClioV6 etc have their own sites and apart from being Renault and rear engined have very little in common with the Alpine .

Vote? What's one of those

Seeing as there are only a handful of Venturi owners in the UK and more than one of them own or have an interest in Alpines as well I'll put a poll up to see if the majority think a Venturi section would be appropriate. Personally I don't have a problem with it.

Quick Update

Postby del mar » Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:11 pm

Evening,

The Swiss one is no longer for sale, the owner felt that it would not work on the road, it is quite far developed from a "normal" 400GT.

There is a deal to be reached on the French one to include a new engine, but hasn't been on the road so some work to get it road legal. It will need some tidying - the exhaust has melted the rear bumper a bit. Nantes has an airport and easyjet fly there but not until july !!! It is also showing as Vat Recoverable, so there maybe a way to get the price down a bit further ???

I have been in contact with Tony and hopefully can view his car either this weekend or next.

Thanks

Del

Just to bring my search to a close..

Following some people with soft irish accents and caravans, buying, tarmacing and moving into an old farm at the top of the hill we have decided that moving appears more pressing than car buying........

I did view Tony's car and have had pictures and correspondance with Extreme Limite in France regarding the red one.

Tony's car is probably mechanically the best out there having spent a large amount of money on the engine and chassis using some very good people, that know what they are doing. It was suggested that the 407bhp quoted for these cars wasnt actually possible with the fuel pump and injectors they have. He has upgraded these and the ecu to get well over 400bhp.

The red car should now have a new engine fitted, and without a great deal of effort could get it for low €40's with the engine. At todays roe call it £36,000, yes it still tired and needs cosmetic work, probably brakes etc etc but that is almost £30,000 less than the Legends car. If you can do some of the work yourself that could be a bargain.

If the Council can move them on I may return...

Thanks
