Failed its MOT on Brake Lines  Not the flexi hoses but the actual pipes after that. It's another bigger of a job apparently, been quoted £250 to replace the 2 rears and one of the fronts (petrol tank out?). Appart from that it's in fine fettle and caused a stir at the MOT station :D

Bummer! :( Hope you manage to get it sorted without too much hassle. Encouraging that the rest of it is fighting fit though! :D

Flushed the coolant today and replaced the rad fan switch which was faulty (the fans came on but didn't come off). It seems to run alot cooler anyway now, so job done without the need for a new rad fingers crossed!

Next job is a service, then a good polish and t-cut!

Update - Taken some piccies at last!

Fixed the fuel guage (always said 18.7 gallons  ), from some advice I replaced the "Fuel Tank Sender Computer Timer Relay" and this sorted it straight away. It does fluctuate though like my old car did, is this the tank sender?

Still to do:

Good Polish and T Cut
Service
Attend to some scuffs and adjust the bonnet.
Possibly replace the steering rack as the MOT guy said there was a little play, it does seem to rattle about a bit as well.
Fit my private plate. H5 TNB relevant to anyone???

Can't take the credit for this but a guy resurrecting a le mans told me about this relay:

"I got one from Renault, it cost £19. part # 60 01 052 001, its called the 'Fuel tank sender computer timer relay'"

Its under the dash, remove the fuse cover, then remove and lower the first bank of relays, under there are another 7 relays arranged as a row of 4 and a row of 3 below, it is the relay on the R/H end. It is a slightly larger black relay with 4 wires going to it.

It worked straight away on mine, hope this helps.

Just call me AC/DC

It came with the car Rupert. I am a new member of CAR as of this year though as I thought I'd give it a whirl. Also my RAOC stickers went with my old GTA. I'm sure a couple of new ones will be put in with the annual RAOC club mag though eh Stephen ?
