Being Z7W makes it EFI, correct? In which case you have a late block with cross bolted journals and a larger oil pump. Dunno why that makes it lower pressure Dave? The block is very defo useful. The crank case is the same as yours minus the turbo return feed, in fact Rupert's looking for one isn't he?

Conrods are the same on all the even fire engines, Keep the caps and the rods together, they'r ematched at the factory. Mark which main cap comes off which journal.

BTW my record is £18 for a running R25 K-Jet (2.7 tho) good old ebay! Came with the electrics too and the flywheel and starter (which lives on in a DeLorean now!)

It has over a bar less pressure at idle and half a bar less than a turbo pump at 5k onwards, when the turbo pump is making more at only 4k, basically its larger, and doesnt make pressure as high or as quick...you don't want to fit an underspec pump to a turbo setup..

Just check the engine manual ,the turbo is 2.2 bar @ idle the W ,1 .
On the W block the liner base diameter is different  You've got to watch these Renault boys  Also there is a lower comp W @ 8.8
Z7W 702 ,vehicle type B 29 A , which is a 25 2.8 :D

Blimey, I thought the Americans thought bigger was better, I never realised how lowly powered the DeLorean was (only 130 bhp) , just a couple more bhp than those eco friendly Volvo 260s.

With lower comp @ 8.8 could you turbo it ?Use the bottom end/pump from a turbo ,the valves are the same as the turbo . What was the Venturi 260 lump ?

The exhaust valves are not sodium cooled, and 8.8 is hardly low as I mentioned before. Would probably be OK for low boost, but the piston rings are not the same as the turbo either..and remember the GTA turbo inlet manifold will not fit, so you need to use a custom one, as the standard Z7W inlet manifold has the throttle body at the back where the turbo would sit..

The Venturi 260 is the same as the AlpineCentre engine, 8.2:1 compression, GTA turbo heads and inlet manifold.
