Just been a good one on the RTOC site :lol: Been removed by the mods :roll:

I'm feeling nostalgic ,PG ,DG ,SM , ohh and old SS74's pearls of wisdom :lol:

Well you stopped the whole trigger setup arguments by actually building an engine (!) to work both ways :roll: no more arguing to be done, you'll be proving it one way or t'other soon enuff!

My latest creation had no compression on any cylinder :oops: took ages to work out why... can you guess? :?:

Didn't put the cam bolts in ...................

As for my new lump ,at the minute it's not working on the modded fly or the trigger wheel :lol: I should have left the Renix unit on until I'd run it in , oh well ,la-de-da :roll:

Lee, thanks for sharing that learning experience with us.
Good Luck, looks like you need some.
After the MOT I think I'll try a bit more cruising tuning and then put it on a RR for finer tuning. :D
I plan to keep it on the standard flywheel, but fit a trigger wheel too as 'plan-b'.
Just waiting for some parts from DG :( , he says they are in the post :roll:

Worse case I'll have to fit a std fly and ECU back on to run it in .I reckon it's doable in-situ .

With your knowledge and experience, can't you make up a 66 tooth trigger wheel? Gotta be easier than swapping the flywheel back... Of course the teeth will be passing the sensor even more "slowly" so probably won't generate enough signal ;)

Nope, wasn't the cam bolts. All the bits that move were installed and set up correctly.

Thats not a problem on the Renix. It will start on half normal cranking rpm.

Dave's the expert on keyways and accurately setting up high lift cams :roll:

The DeLorean has the same rocker arms as the early Z7U's.I had one set of ally rockers from a late GTA engine spare and wanted to use those on this build. Turns out they're fractionally taller than the older cast iron ones, and the DeLorean's rocker covers have ridges cast on the underside... ridges which have dents in them on the late GTA covers.

The difference is so minute that you don't notice it when putting the covers on, but it's enough to hold the valves open by a fraction of a millimetre.
