L790VLR A610 on Ebay briefly

Postby mettersl » Fri Jun 19, 2020 8:45 am

Did anyone here buy it...£16.5k... a bargain...lots of faults listed and ad said no MOT...except that it HAD an MOT extension and was Stuarts extensively rebuilt car with rebuilt body and mechanicals.
Yes it still needs a small amount of finishing work if you want perfection, but should have been the A610 bargain of the century at that price. Its done Macon since its rebuild so is sound mechanically, subject to the usual alpine limits on reliability. :angel

Spotted it, and yes honest advert I thought. Wonder whether it sold?

There was plenty of interest. Ebay buyer fell through, I went to look and in the end it was bought by a long time forum regular.

As you say was actually taxed and tested and could have been driven straight home.

Basically an OK useable car with the rust sorted , some tidying to do and a few faults to sort. VIN plate lost due to corrosion. ABS faulty (dash light removed) and a few wiring issues in the front. Previous front end accident wasn’t mentioned but I don’t think either of the previous owners knew about it until I told them.

That's good, presumably it will pop up somewhere when the mystery buyer reveals themselves...if they want the original cloth seats, they are with me...

Mind you these days a forum regular means about once a year....which is a shame as forums are a great source of information to keep these cars going and facebook is busier but transient.

The other forum that I'm a regular on, the moderators get upset if you post anything other than social stuff on their facebook group. That's great as the forum remains more active with technical stuff (but then there are 100 times the number of cars too) and is a great archive.

after 30+ years of being on the road, most cars will have had a little bump at least.
