Loose Door Mirror Glass

Postby Bazzer501 » Tue Mar 21, 2017 5:49 pm

Hi all,

A long standing niggle I've had with my A610 is that the drivers door mirror glass is loose within the mirror itself. It is firmly fixed but vibrates when driving at speed so not a lot of use to see whats coming up behind me.

The workshop manual is useless for detailing how to remove the glass so I need to find out how I can remove the glass without breaking it and re-secure it to the four mounting points to stop the vibration.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers, Barry.

You just have to prise it off carefully as it only clips on.

The fact that it is loose indicates that one of the clips is already broken. Have you tried pushing it firmly back on in the centre?

The only other possibility is that the mirror motor assembly itself is loose on its 4 screws which can deal with when the glass is off.

If it breaks when you remove it don't worry too much as I have plenty in stock.
