turbo help

ive attemted taking my turbo off this afternoon i have removed everything apart from one last nut thats on the exhaust housing it sits behiend the turbo and i cant get anything in to turn it because the compressor housing is in the way
anyone who has removed a turbo from a gta can you give me any tips please im desparate

If I remember rightly I modified a spanner to fit. Nowadays I remove the turbo still attached to the manifold...its easier.

the turbo is off dave g pointed me in the right direction(takeing the full lot off exhaust pipes etc) an auto electrition had a look and said there is no pulse coming from the tdc sensor so i will get one from renault on monday im lucky the sensor has gone before i put the knew turbo on coz theres no way you can get to it with the turbo on

does anyone know the part number for the tdc sensor

You can get it on with the turbo in place but its a botch! What David has advised you to do is what I do.....you can get just the turbo off but you need to modify a spanner. The joys of GTA ownership are just starting for you by the sounds of it!!!! And you thought a GTT was expensive and troublesome

a gtt is sooo nice to work on copared to the gta and theres about 5 wires in the engine bay aswell compared to the gta spaghetti junction and loads of sensors yeah that does seem the easy way of taking the turbo off but its still a pain in the ars* isnt it

Pretty much every engine job on the GTA is a pain.......and Ive binned anything that isnt absolutely necesary to save weight and make it easier. Just pray that your clutch is ok because then the real fun starts
