New Rear Glass, New Shift Linkage Bushings, etc.

Postby japanalpine » Sun Apr 26, 2015 9:53 am

Hi all,

Well, it's been a while. Work and obligations have kept me from car stuff. But last week I found a rear glass panel by accident! The guy I got it from is building a racer and had a poly rear panel which meant he had a spare OEM rear glass one for me at only about GBP 220. As a bonus, he made me some shift bushings and shipped them to me at no charge. Wow.

On a recurring note, the alternator is out I think. When the fuel pump surges the voltage goes to 17~18 then drops back down to 14. Today it decided to drop to 8 all of a sudden, then to 18, then to 14. All over the place. All the connections are clean and tight, no loose wires. I'm thinking the regulator has had it.

Any good places to source a new one? Maybe an easy mod to another unit? Pretty sure nobody will touch this here since it's not Japanese. Shipping, reapair, then return shipping will be more than an outright unit. If anyone has one for sale hit me up!

Thank you!

Tommy

I've got a couple of used units lying about but try swapping out the reg first ...£10 + shipping has got to be worth a try .

Thanks Lee. I'll try that first and if it does not work out then a new (used or otherwise) unit from you.

Thank you again!

Hi Lee,

Thank you again for the advice on the regulator. I had one on backorder for a while, finally arrived Friday and installed it yesterday. Everything is back to normal with no charging issues! The part was GBP14 delivered but the same part is GBP80 here. Crazy.

Best,
Tom
