Turbosmart not working

Postby jon_viola » Wed Feb 19, 2014 5:16 pm

Hi

Thought I'd ask your advice. I have a twin stage turbosmart fitted. One side sets boost level fine but the other side whilst you can feel it switching over won't control boost. I should add that once you've started the car on the side that does work it won't switch to the other side.

Does anyone know if there is a repair or am I stuck with this?

Thanks

Jon

Best option is to disconnect it and stop kidding yourself that it's a good idea to run two boost settings :pint :Mass :axe

Send it back to turbo smart,
I sent mine back years ago and they tested it fully.

The thing is that for motorway work you want the chargecooler off and boost lower for economy and then for fun drives boost back up and chargecooler on to produce outright power. It's also a question of trying to look after the longevity of the engine etc

Miles how long after you bought yours did you return it? Mine must be a good 4-5 years old...

Colder intake air is better from an economy point of view also, assuming you're running even low boost. Leave the CC running, the power it costs is negligible.
