Front mounted chargecooler rad

Postby jon_viola » Wed Sep 04, 2013 5:04 pm

Hi,

I would like to move my chargecooler rad to the front as where it currently sits in the rear passenger side engine compartment isn't really up to much.

I used to have it on the front passenger side behind the bumper but that has all my a/c bits so a no go.

I was thinking a v thin and small extra rad at the bottom of the front bumper air intake. Since I already have a Europa cup spec rad and a/c rad up there space is limited. I'll have to make mounts up somehow I guess.

Does anyone know where I could find one as cheaply as possible?

Or has anyone got any clever ideas for making the rear work better? It already has a fan.

Cheers

Jon

Fit two,
Put in front wheel arch rhs.
I preferred mine in the airflow in front of conventional rad. Now back in wheel well.
The problem with wheel well is that you need the fan on constantly.

On the RHS front Ive all the ABS gubbins so no room there either...

I was thinking of a gurney flap at the rear to create suction but being behind the rear wheel means its already a low pressure area- or maybe i'm wrong

Could anyone tell me the size that would fit at the bottom of the rad? In between the rad and bumper?

Width and depth? Not got the car in front of me to look!

Thanks
