Brake Upgrade

Postby LiamMcShane » Thu Aug 15, 2013 10:09 am

Hi guys. I remember a few years ago seeing a thread about upgrading the front brakes, but I was wondering if there was a rear brake conversion available?

Hi Liam,

If you have a look through my JL Engineering facebook page https://www.facebook.com/jlengineeringuk. There are a number of pictures of the kits. They are available through RAOC or JL Engineering, prices vary on specifications.

Cheers, John.

I'm pretty certain the peugeot brembo four pots fit the back as well, but you have to get a separate handbrake caliper.
Richard did it on the fat turbo hill climb car.

The picture of the red car shows a separate handbrake calliper, but there's a neater option using an identical looking HiSpec calliper with an integrated hydro mechanical handbrake mechanism - talk to Tony or John (or indeed Stephen), they are more expert than I, I just bought Tony's Le Mans set a few months ago! The same hydro mechanical handbrake calliper is used for DeLorean conversions.

I could live with just the handbrake caliper cos that's what it failed the MOT on! Where do I find one of those?

You can order the universal spot caliper seperately.

Price and source? Would I need different handbrake cables or anything else to fit them?
