OSR hub bearing for GTA Turbo

Postby LiamMcShane » Mon Jul 22, 2013 9:59 am

Hi guys. Having a feckin nightmare at the mo. Car failed MOT on the OSR hub bearing but when I tried to get one they (Renno) Don't have a part number. They think it comes as part of the hub assembly. Any ideas? Do they come separate? Or do I have to spend a feckin fortune on it?

Hi Liam,

The parts book seems to suggest that it comes as an assembly for the GTA, whereas for the 610 it is a separate bearing.
See below... the part 16 appears to be the item you require.... part 17 is for the 610...... unless someone knows different.
Have they given you a price for the assembly?

60 00 008 081 is the correct part. Very expensive from Renault though. £150+. From Dieppe (£80 approx).

77 01 462 020 is the front bearing available from Renault (£50 approx) and pattern eg QH

Both are SNR bearings in the box. They look the same and are ineterchangeable physically if you want to save money.

But the part numbers on the bearings are different. Last digit of SNR part number = 2 on one and = 3 on the other. This would indicate a different load rating for the front and rear bearings.

Unless anyone knows different.

You will be fine with a front bearing .
I have found a source in France that lists the front and rear bearings with different ref nos and assume they are diff load ratings but I wouldn't worry too much about it .
Been putting a lot more power through the front bearing type on a few GTA for years and never had a failure ( famous last words ) But even so at about 50 quid a throw you can go through a few and still be quids in on a 'correct' fitment ......

Check your main nut on the hub is tight first. If its loose you'll get play even if the bearing is fine.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Thanks boys! I'll check the nut first, and prob get the front if the bearing's shagged! ;-)
I could get the assembly for about £140 Inc VAT. I'll price the front tomorrow.

Thanks again.

One thing to add .
Just opened up a few boxes of stock and even though all in the same packaging/number/supplier the numbers and manufacturers on the bearings themselves differ ..so it's a bit of a lottery but everyone's a winner

I did the same yesterday while deciding what to ft on my own car.

All the genuine Renault ones were SNR ending 02 for front bearings and 03 for rear bearings EXCEPT one very old stock with a completely different Renault part number but the same SNR number ending 05.

What are the complete SNR numbers then Stephen, rather than the Visa card version? ;-)
