Help please T2 ring gap

Hi dose anyone know what the piston ring gap is on a turbo 2 engine cant find anywhere every manual said they come pre gaped but i would like to check first

they are pre gapped, i couldnt find a spec anywhere for them either. incidentally they are the same rings for a gt turbo, any other 1397cc R5 and even the volvo 340's.... perfect circle or goetze seem to be popular.

I would work on a gap of 0.0055 to 0.006" per inch bore dia, and you will be good to go :wink:
... A diamond is only a piece of coal that did well under pressure... PRV afflicted, may be I need to squeeze harder!!!!

yea thanks i found this measurment and used it good thing too as some of the rings had no gap when in the cylinder :D

8) good stuff, yes they are the std SAE size recommendations, and have used them on all the file-to-fit rings I have used in the past on forced induction motors. They are certainly safe at 0.0055 as I have never seen signs of ring end butting, but not worth the risk to trim back and then find you have an issue.

So what spec motor are you building? Sounds good :)

Just the normal things you would do
Bottom end balanced,H section rods,new pistons,steel liners 210 camshaft,3angle valves,ports matched and improved :D
