Weren't they the colours of the Renault F1 team at the time. It's simply a Renault Sport badge stuck on by Renault Sport dealers I think. My car has one too, although I think mine's stuck on the wrong way round!

If you look at the badge on Clee's car; if you rotate it 90deg. clockwise so the yellow is at the top, that's how mine is stuck on. But looking at a Renaault Brochure I have, Clee's is on the correct way. Don't know why they stuck mine on wrong! :?

The badge was used by Renault Performance Centres. If your GTA came from one of these it carried the badge, if it came from a normal Renault dealer in didn't have the badge. Mine came from Old Oak in Enfield and has the badge. These performance centres were listed on the old GTA car mag adverts so if you have a copy of CAR mag for example Feb 87 you will see an advert on page 62 and all will make sense!

Oh yea, if any one wants one I think I have a couple spare somewhere that I brought a few years back at a Renault show in the bargain bucket (they have been known to drop off after a while when the sticky pad dries out so I brought them for 50p and kept just in case!!!!
