Maybe it means chip as in ECU chip and suitcase well........ there was actually an official Alpine branded leather suitcase for the GTA designed to fit the 'boot'.

One came up for sale secondhand in the CAR newsletter years ago, still kinda wish that I'd bought it when I had the chance.
