Postby eastlmark » Thu Oct 15, 2009 1:14 pm

Only just learned today that Jean Sage has recently died.
Brought in to the Alpine Renault group 6 sports car team as team manager by competition director, Gerrard Larrouse, he team managed the 1978 win in the Le mans 24 hours as well as looking after the fledgling Turbo F1 cars and the success to come. He then became Renaults Sporting director throughout the Lotus and Williams years until Renault withdrew as a engine supplier to F1 in 1986.
He was later involved in forming one of the first teams to race and develope the Ferrari F40.
