What's that then 100kg less than standard? What did Peter G get down to on his weight loss programme?

Dunno ...
He had to keep more interior to stay in class ,also the fat Azevs and chargecooler ??
100 kg less I very much doubt it ? I'm not sure as the 1180 std figure is kerb weight and that may include 75kg for driver so it could just be 25kg lighter which would be more like it .I know what has gone or been replaced and no way does it add up to 100kg ..... Mind ,the std exhaust weighs a feckin tonne alone ....
We need someone with a totally std GTA Turbo to put theirs on the scales .

1180kg is kerb weight for an early turbo (86 model year)

AFAIK this includes all fluids inc a full tank of fuel. 15.84 gallons (72 litres)

I guess it will not include the weight of a 75kg (I wish!) standard driver as this was before the European directive.

So yes that represents a weight loss of just over 90kg allowing 8kg ish of fuel to brim fill the tank.

The later cars are heavier due to the aircon prep pipe work and aircon and/or abs if fitted.

What's the error margin for the weigh?

BTW AZEVs are quite heavy. About 4 or 5kg per wheel over standard Le Mans split rims in the same diameter but narrower widths too.
