GTA ON TOP GEAR

Postby Martin Walding » Mon Apr 13, 2009 11:41 am

I have located the Top Gear Episode on the release of the GTA in 1986
which also shows the construction of body panels in the factory. If you tap in Top Gear GTA 1986 Epsode 3 there is a 5 minute article. Which you might find of interest

Great find :D I especially liked her complaining of "lack of foot room" whilst trying to drive in high heals  Also how she commented that even when brand spanking new the fuel/trip computer was "inaccurate"

Is this now worth £6.75k with this provenance?

It was showing 50+ mpg

The pedal room has always been my major gripe with GTAs. I have to be selective about the shoes I wear when driving my 610 and still struggle occasinoally.

I was thinking 52.4 mpg might be a 'little optimistic'!

When I bought my A610, I hadn't driven one before and drove 250 miles on my first drive when bringing it home! It was a real nightmare with my Size 12 shoes. I'm used to it now but it's easy to be caught out by the closeness of the pedals and the fact that they are so offset to the left.

I take a size 11 1/2 and find GTA pedals a bit tricky. Any shoe with sole that protrudes out to the side is hopeless. These Converses do the trick if your image can cope 8) ...
