That's all they had at Motorworld. Thought it would be close enough! :D

The closest Halfords is over the bridge in Widnes and I couldn't be arsed!

Besides, I get a discount at Motorworld.

BTW, the box of roll pins I bought, not one is the correct size for the job. Every diameter you can think of but they're all too short! Luckily my brother managed to scrounge a couple from work which look about right.

Just spoken to Ed(RENAULT Technical Expert as he is known) and he says to use the recommended TRX 75w80 oil as the gearbox can go "tight" using anything else.

Hmm, according to the techno, techno, techno info on the back of the bottle, it meets all the relevant standards. :? Maybe I'll play Guinea pig, put it in anyway and let you know if it goes all tight at all! :D It's got to be better than no oil!

Please use this oil with the UN1 gearbox, ANYTHING else is just crap.

Don't be the guinea pig as it has been tried before.

might be a wee bit harder to get the correct stuff, but then rebuilding your gearbox is a pain in the asp.

All done! :D Thanks for everyone's advice. Correct 75w80 duly acquired and used. :) What a biatch it is to refill the box though! Bought a nifty little pump gadget like this but from Motorworld, which did the trick.

Car feels a dream to drive again compared to how it was, no nasty clonks. :D
