help in finding chassis no.

Postby little ghost » Thu Jul 24, 2008 5:25 pm

Does anybody know where the VIN or Chassis number lives on an A610? There's a bunch of numbersvon plates in the engine bay, but none of them says VIN or chassis

Cheers

In the top of the right hand turret in the engine bay. Well thats where they are in a gta......

Yours should start D503

It should be on your V5 as well :?:

you will know if you have the correct number if it starts as BIG MVS says with D503 and followed with 13 other digits!

You will find that the VIN number actually is on the rectangular plate in the engine bay and should start with VF(then 'A') - that's the 'France' designation of the World Manufacturer Identifier code. There follows the vehicle identifier 'D503' and 10 further digits. On the plate this is spread over 2 lines bounded by the embossed renault diamonds. If you look at Wikipedia, you will find a useful description of the VIN system, and an explanation as to how to check the validity of yours. The system works, I checked it with my A610 VIN.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks everyone, extremely helpful. I never had a car that didn't have VIN or chassis no. written on it in big letters. Trust the alpine to be different as usual.
