A610 on clarksons dvd

Postby cos500 » Thu Jan 03, 2008 3:05 pm

Hello all, i just wanted to have a look on here to see what you guys thought of clarkson for what he did to that car. Im a cosworth enthusiast and have owned them now for the last 10 years and am usually found on the ford rs forum but more than that im a car enthusiast and even though i dont know much about renult alpines i know they are rare and have never seen one on the road. The car he had looked fantastic to me in very tidy condition. i just dont understand the need to smash it up like he did, maybe it was for attention, most likely though he is just a c@ck, lets face it, anyone that drives past me in a lambo thats the first thing that springs to mind.
I actually love topgear and thought it was one of the best programmes on tv but its starting to lose its apeal to me now as its just really a one man show.
I actually met clarkson 2 years ago at the nurburgring where a bunch of us take our cars once a year, he was trying to do the ring in 10mins in a diesel twin turbo jag, well i say met him, about 6 of us in quiet powerful cossies went through the barriers and waited on the straight for clarkson the stig and the tv crew who were following in mondeo st220's, we waited for them to pass then all overtook him cutting him up on the first set of corners, very funny, he wasnt impressed and it was never seen on the tv but im glad we did it now as he really is a toilet and i think slowly loosing all respect from the classic car community.

3 years ago next month I loaned Top Gear my Rover P5B Coupe for filming. I spent the whole day there and was promised lunch with the presenters. They went off to a double decker catering bus for fish and chips, all I got was a polystyrene cup of cool coffee and a packet of crisps. Richard and James were very friendly and chatted about my car and the filming but Clarkson would not even make eye contact and further ignored an attempt by the producer to introduce me. He also delighted in cocking up the filming of the other presenters. You don't get any payment or thanks for helping Top Gear I'm afraid. I have enjoyed the programme but Clarkson specialises in being an arrogant and ungrateful git so has lost all my respect and busting a good A610 is pure vandalism. :(
Driving an A610 is just so sublime.
