Steering column bushes

Postby damien » Sun May 02, 2004 10:02 am

Has anybody had any experience of changing the bushes in the steering column. The top one appears to be readily available from Renault and is a standard fitment, but the bottom one is proving more problematic and Renault can't identify this one or give me a part number. Any ideas?

Thanks for the diagram David. I think this is the one we looked at at Renault. The problem is that the bush shown in the diagram as fitting to the bottom of the column is actually the one that fits in the top and the bottom one, whilst looking very similar, has larger dimensions. The diagram is odd in that it doesn't show a bush for the top of the column at all!

Damien,

You could try Paul Sage (contact details www.alpinerenracing.com )

He completely rebuilt my steering rack and usually has a few in progress. I know some of the old magazines refer to the steering being derived from a Fuego system but I remember Paul telling me this was not the case.
